I’ve lived in Colorado all my life and learned, as I’ve gotten older, that I’ve taken advantage of the fact that we more sunny, blue sky days, than most of America. We have lots of happy people, loving life, living healthy that seem to spread that joy by being extra generous.
I started adding Colorado event links to my business site several years back and realized it became one of the most viewed pages… so when I was deciding on blog subjects I thought I’d expand on the idea, move the links to this site and create a place where anyone in the world could take a picturesque peek into our beautiful state.
I grew up riding motorbikes; the term we used to use for off-road vehicles, in the mountains when I was 10. I suppose it could’ve been those ‘roughing it’ camping and riding trips that put the love of the mountains into me. My dad would take my sister and I up in the early fall, camping in a tent, eating over the fire and riding long enough during the days till we thought our hands would stay permanently in a handle gripping position… but it became one of the things I looked forward to most every year.
My other favorite is outdoor concerts, everything from local jazz talent to the symphony under the stars in Breckenridge. Almost every mountain town has some kind of music festival in the summer and fall months so if you come to Colorado, be sure to make one; you won’t regret it.
… and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band says it best when they wrote “..the closest thing to heaven on this planet anywhere is a quiet Christmas morning in the Colorado snow!”
